5 Aussie Creatives Show Us How They Wear Knee High Boots
I love knee high boots and can’t lie.
I’m here to tell you – it’s my mission today – that the knee boot is the new power suit. The new power really doesn’t matter, because there is nothing more satisfying than climbing around a room (I love to splash around, it’s my favorite way to get around) and know you look to start with a scooter. Too much?

Seriously, I’ve been obsessed ever since Bottega Veneta’s famous crampon boots took over my entire Instagram feed. The iterations of the knee boot since have only gotten better (and more affordable), with some of my favorite local brands offering their own take on it.
Below I asked five Aussie creatives to show me how they style their knee high boots because a) I’m running out of outfit ideas and b) I’m curious. Please appreciate the fruits of my labor.

The perfect tall boots are an elusive unicorn – they have to have the right shape, the right heel thickness, and be tall but not too tall (especially if you’re on the shorter side like me). After forever searching my perfect pair have finally come into my life and now that the weather has gotten cooler that’s all I want to wear.
here are the Aeyde’s Tammy Boot and I love them because the leather is so soft yet structured and the chunky rubber sole is so sturdy. I wear them with shorts and a puffy sweater, or sometimes a mini dress with a long, thick wool coat on top. You can also do the Princess Di and wear it in jeans with a shirt and blazer.

I love how a new style of knee high boots starts to trend every winter! Mine are more mid-calf, so I paired them with knee-high socks over tights to add dimension. This layering on the bottom is warm – looks good and is warmer than just plain tights, making me feel comfortable wearing a skirt in the winter despite what people may say [laughs].
I cleaned up the look with a black mock neck long sleeve (worn inside out because the print on the other side wasn’t working and the exposed seams are hot right now, which means it doesn’t has never been better time to wear your clothes inside out!). For a touch of color and intrigue, I wear my tie dress as a skirt. It was handmade by my best friend Kat from @shopureobsession in recycled ties. Telfar was the perfect color to tie it all together! And sure enough, I have my headlines for some chaotic warm energy.

I got my first pair of tall boots earlier this year and they’ve made my outfits so much cooler ever since! Tall boots are the easiest way to take an outfit to the next level and [make it] it looks like you put in so much effort, when in reality you just put it on. My ultimate combo is a mini skirt or dress with my green knee socks, but I wear my black and white pairs just as often.

I love knee high boots, they are comfortable, practical and very stylish. I appreciate the nostalgic ’90s feel, especially with a square toe and chunky block heel. They are a staple in my wardrobe, all year round. My favorite way to style them is with bare leg skirts and dresses, or [with] tights in the colder months. I love how strong and sexy I feel in them. Elevate a look with ease! This pair is from Zomp.

I love knee high boots and truly believe they have the magical ability to elevate any outfit into a memorable outfit. I already have about five pairs and I don’t see the collection stopping anytime soon. The pair I’m wearing in this pic are my absolute favorites (don’t tell others). I bought them from Asos a year or two ago and they haven’t disappointed. For this outfit, I just paired them with one of my favorite basic Lioness dresses and a gold Mejuri necklace.
